I wanted to focus more on the layout than anything else. I set up my photos with two different models in different boxes in a crisscross orientation. Why, you ask? I've honestly seen it in diva-ish photo shoots so I had to. You can see a succession of sassy smiles from the divas. In split, it's the "I don't want to talk to you, and I'm not afraid to show it" face. On the Rembrandt photo, my model is smirking, probably looking at her photographer and thinking "Who put you on the planet?". In paramount, she can't contain her laughter anymore, and ends up giving a quick "HA!" and other's foolishness. Finally, in loop, my model just, "I can't even". She's done, like, officially done.
Now let me be honest here - I was only thinking of the orientation when putting this project together, not a theme. When I looked at the pictures and the layout, though, they just seemed so, moody! Uber sassy! So ta-da, here's a sassy diva shoot. My favorite lighting is loop. It gives the models a sharp edge on the face, and a bit of a focus to one side. It also totally amped up the sassiness. *snaps* "For I must be travelin' on now There's too many places I got to see If I stay here with you girl Things just couldn't be the same 'Cause I'm as free as a bird now And this bird you cannot change" - Lynyrd Skynyrd [Free Bird] "Sing us a song you're the piano man Sing us a song tonight Well we're all in the mood for a melody And you've got us feeling alright" - Billy Joel [Piano Man] "Catching Walleye from the dock Watching the waves roll off the rocks She'll forever hold a spot inside my soul We'd blister in the sun We couldn't wait for night to come To hit that sand and play some rock and roll" - Kid Rock [All Summer Long] "He walks away, The sun goes down, He takes the day But I'm grown, And in your way, In this blue shade My tears dry on their own" - Amy Winehouse [Tears Dry On Their Own] TLC - CrazySexyCool
Angelica Rios & Nicole Tuitasi present...As we grow older and wiser everyday, we never actually reach our full potential of wisdom and knowledge. As we grow, we are expected to be more mature. But, what IS mature? Some of us have the idea of a straight and serious face put on all of the time. Our photos are here to tell you that life is a playground. It's not just for kids, it's for all of us - all ages. Trying to put on a straight face while rising high on the swing, falling low on the slides, or even spinning sick on the merry-go-round, just doesn't look right. We will always learn, grow, fall, and experience every painful and pleasurable experience life gives us. But the truth is that life is a playground - It's for all ages, and it's only for eager faces. Go back and look at the difference between their faces. Would that boy stuck in the swing seat look better with a serious face? - Or worse? The curious boy, who held his flashlight in his hand, is he taken with a light heart with his eagerness growing? - Or is a line for a mouth okay? Ignore the signs that say that playgrounds are for children 12 and under - Life if your playground, smile.
No.1
Describe - Just in time for Mocking Jay? Now I may not be the "Girl On Fire", but one mustn't disagree that I'm a Goddess of the skies. Ok fine disagree. With my homemade bow, I can make an arrow out of ANYTHING - even a plane's exhaust! While clouds add luster, and my silhouette adds mystery, there's no doubt of power. Analyze - I had to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, for another plane to pass by that was releasing exhaust. Right when it passed, I would quickly angle my arrow to the skies, and try to get a precise angle of the bow with the "arrow". Interpret - I feel a sense of power and revolt to this. Yet there's a mystical and subtle background to it. It's a soft background, yet the defined silhouette and the sharp line of exhaust breaks the peace. Judge - I wish I took a better photo. I wanted one where the arrow would make an exact 90 degree angle with the bow. I also wanted the plane in the photo as well to serve as the tip of the arrow. I couldn't take it the days after because it was cloudy and rainy in the sky. But the photo still turned out beautiful! No.2 Describe - And now, a moment of silence, for the worst team in the whole NFL right now. *Sigh*. Well, I still support them as my number 1 team. Maybe next year? Anyways, it was Thanksgiving, and the whole family got together. My dad handed me his keys to hold, which include a Raiders football helmet key chain, to which I put to use, maybe even more than the team itself (Oooo, burn). Sorry Raiders, I had to. The opportunity was open. Analyze - I placed the helmet closer to the camera to make the helmet look a lot bigger compared to my cousin who was sitting near me. I placed it right over his head, and I was fortunate enough to get the photo RIGHT when he looked up - making a PERFECT fit! Interpret - This is to have fun! I showed a few people, and some thought he was actually wearing the helmet! Maybe it's Raider life behind the scenes? Just kidding they're like this on the field too (Oooo, do you smell turkey? - Because someone got ROASTED). OK FINE I'll stop. Judge - I loved the turn out! It made me so happy to take the photo, look at it, and think "Wow, that turned out amazing!" It was taken randomly, and it was awesome to see the turn out! |
